Welcome to HollandVoice.net

This page will tell you a bit about me and how this site was born.

My story actually starts back around 1997-1998 when I got online for the first time and was talked into making a web page by my Daughter. I didn't have a clue what to do first so I searched around for classes and found that you could learn all you need to know online. Imagine that! So I signed up, started learning and it wasn't long before I was seeing some fantastic graphics that students were using. Naturally I had to sign up for classes to learn that, too.

The class was full of wonderful people from various graphic abilities, all walks of life and from all over the world. One student in particular stood out to me because of the humor he showed in his graphics and comments. It wasn't long until he was added to my growing list of online buddies. Hein had much more graphic ability and computer knowledge than me so before long I was chatting with him often to learn as much as I could.

After a while our friendship began to grow and almost before I knew it - in 2000, in fact, I was on an airplane traveling from Phoenix, Arizona to the Netherlands! It didn't take long before I knew that I wanted to stay forever and we were married 5 months after I arrived. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be embarking on a new adventure this late in life.

Living in a different part of the world, learning new things, seeing sites I only ever saw in pictures.....all this has definitely been truly an adventure. Originally my site was a way for me to share new experiences with my friends in the US. Now it has evolved into an informational as well as personal site about Holland and other places we visit.

I hope you will come back often to see what new places we have visited, share in our memories and experiences. I have tried to express my thoughts as I've written the travel pages to bring a personal touch into the information about the various places. I sincerely hope you will enjoy them.
