Snow in Amersfoort

First Snow of Winter 2004-2005
(aka - Isn't it almost Spring?)

Holland rarely gets much snow. But this year will be a memorable one. Much of the northern part of the country is getting the most snow they've seen in 20 years. Some locations there haven't seen this much in 40+ years - up to 19 inches. Fortunately, we aren't getting that much, but this is the most I've seen in the 5 years I've been here.

Snow 2005

The last two pictures are from this morning (Mar. 3, 2005). The one on the righ is my garden/patio. The rose bushes already had it's little red leaves and I had been thinking that it's about time to get out there to clean the winter debris away. HAH!

Snow 2005

The first two pictures were taken yesterday, March 2, 2005 when the snow had started to pile up. This is the first snow Holland has had during the winter season other than a light dusting 2 days after Christmas.

The leaves on the far right of this one are the leaves on the same tree shown in the first pic at the top. More snow is expected and the temps are supposed to be around 0 degrees Farenheit.

Something tells me the crocus that had started to bloom in the park are going back to sleep.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't it almost Spring?
